About Us

Why Mobile?

Dr. Ash started a mobile practice with the goal of providing curbside highly personalized care for your pets. Our mobile unit allows us to offer most general veterinary procedures while minimizing the time your pet has to stay away from you. The mobile unit is essentially a tiny hospital on wheels! Working with a small independently owned business on wheels for your pet's care allows us to work together as a team, at a flexible pace. We are also so excited to bring this hospital to the harder-to-reach areas of Larimer County, and are thrilled to be able to travel to your ranch for procedures as well as routine care!

Meet Dr. Ash Wells, DVM

Dr. Ash had a fascinating journey to veterinary medicine. Born and raised outside of Baltimore, Maryland, she grew up with few pets, but a tremendous amount of passion for them. She worked as an assistant at veterinary hospitals starting in high school. Ash then moved to Humboldt County, California for college, and attended Humboldt State University. She found the path to veterinary medicine to be a bit too demanding at the time, and instead pivoted to earning a Bachelor's of Science in Natural Resources Planning & Interpretation, emphasizing in recreation management. While in college, Ash worked at a doggie daycare and found medical emergencies to be her favorite days on the job (a spoiler, it turned out). After college, Ash almost became a soil scientist, but instead took a job working on a vegetable farm. Ash worked for 6 years almost-alone in the pacific northwest, as an organic farmer. She grew many vegetables and even worked with her local community to raise and butcher humane small-meats for the local community, expanding her animal husbandry beyond household pets. It is during this time on the farm that Ash developed her infamous passion for broccoli (she has picked and processed over 1 ton of broccoli in a day!). After 6 years of sitting on a tractor and working in the fields, Ash decided to finally pursue a veterinary career again. She eased back into working with pets by managing a doggie daycare and boarding facility before moving back to the East Coast and working as a technician assistant in a veterinary hospital. Ash had to collect a few more years of schooling before applying to vet school, and finally graduated as Dr. Ash in 2020 from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She moved with her husband (also a vet) to Fort Collins in 2021 and fell in love with the local community, feeling she finally found her perfect match. She lives on 5 acres up Rist Canyon called "Rainbow Ridge" with her 2 pittbulls (referred to as "the husbands") Amos Elizabeth & Chupacabra "Peter" Dandelion. She looks forward to meeting you and your pets!
